Hello to all from the northland, it has been quite a
full month with many things going on around the
church. We are very happy to have the team back from
the Philippines as our church greatly feels the absence of
a few, though it was very encouraging to have some
Menomonie people help out and fill in some of the gaps
where needed. Thank you for that. It is very
encouraging to hear about how God used the team over
there and how this trip has affected their lives. It is a
great blessing to get to be involved in missions such as
the work that goes on over there. Speaking of missions,
we are also preparing to send 5 people on the New
Orleans trip in just a few weeks. We are also greatly
looking forward to that as well. We had our annual
spring rummage sale a few weeks back and despite
typical Duluth spring weather it was a success as we got
to meet and continue to get to know the people in our
community as well as raise some money for mission’s
endeavors. We had so much stuff that we are having a
second sale in June and marking down the prices as
everything must go. It’s the first time we will have tried
this so hopefully it goes well. Also on the note of
meeting people in the community we started a new
coffee outreach where a few people handed out free
coffee right outside the church for commuters on their
way to work. Many people in West Duluth pass by the
church every morning to get to the freeway so it’s a
great way to meet people in our neighborhood. They
handed out 40+ cups of coffee to people so that’s 40
neighbors that now know who we are in some way. This
will be going on every Thursday morning from 6-9am
throughout the summer. Please pray that relationships Pastor Justin and Sara
with people in our community may be started through
this and that God would use us to bless our are reading:
neighborhood. Also Street Level is making plans to meet
on and off campus throughout the summer to make Justin’s Reading: Sara’s Reading:
efforts to get to know some of the students that stick
around for the summer, we are hopeful that God would
use us there as well to develop friendships and minister
to whomever He would have us meet. We have had a
variety of other things going on such as camping, grilling,
paintballing, and just hanging out that continue to
strengthen us as a church and a family. Also, we have a
variety of projects coming up that we are planning to do
at the church to continue to maintain and update the
building God has given us to use. Please pray for us that
God would use us here in any way He wants and that we
would listen and be obedient to His will for us. We
continue to pray for you all as well, look forward to
seeing you all later in the summer.
