Remote Broadcasting

We have been blessed to get out and do a remote broadcast at UW-Stout this semester. We were invited by Street Level, Blind Munchies Coffeehouse, and Word on the Street Magazine, as they were all there too. We are planning to do it one more time before the snow flies (hopefully!).

Please keep us in prayer as we would like to interact with actual people as much as possible.

Streaming Data

Here is a look at the data for both the US and the Philippines streams. Please keep our listeners in prayer as we gain more and more as time goes on. This quarter, our top countries for unique listeners were the US, Philippines, China, Russia, Germany, and Ireland. Oddly though, going by Total Duration (how much people listened or stayed connected to the stream) it would be the US, Philippines, Cabo Verde, Reunion, and Myanmar. So people are listening!

Update from Website

As Pastor Tim mentioned in his blog, we received a nice message via our website from a listener in Uganda:
Hi Street level Radio, Praise King Jesus and greetings to you all at Street level Radio. My name is Derrick Kiirya listening in live from Mayuge, Uganda .  So blessed to be tuned in live . Just finished my church service at Bestheda Deliverance Church, Mayuge. I will be following you on Facebook and IG , so that I can keep in touch always. Thank you so much.
Blessings and love

It is really nice and rare to get feedback like this as a radio ministry – so thank God for that! Please pray that we get more feedback as to where our listeners are listening from!

Philippines Radio Location Addition

In the Philippines, we recently got a new location for our antenna array – at Carol’s Karenderia. As our “hubs” get added, that means we get more area coverage for our station. The listeners can lock onto our website and stream the station for free (not using data). Here is a screenshot here of the coverage this array gives us:

Please pray for this technology and our future endeavors with using the station in this way. We are always looking for creative ways to allow listeners in the Philippines to be able to stream our station for free.

Welcome back, students!

This semester the Burning Dog Radio is working more than ever in the realm of “getting out there” and in advertising. We were able to purchase space on the billboard near Stout’s football stadium, we have shifted our shows to the Blind Munchies trailer, and have been able to get down to Stout with the oft-used corner counter.

We have leveled up our merch as well! We recently got some masks with our patches on them available at the coffeehouse, as well as a new batch of hats and tumblers. If you purchase the not-as-famous-as-the-butterfly-latte-yet Sweet Beats Latte you get a tumbler for 2 bucks.

It has been great to be able to get the word out there about the station and we have already gotten some interest from people about volunteering with the station. We are excited to see what God is going to do this year with us and through us. Pray that he uses us and the station to reach people for the Kingdom.

Evangelism Summit

We’ve been blessed to be able to host (shortly) an Evangelism Summit for college students – including those in Street Level Ministries. We’ll have Pastor Tim as guest speaker slash MC. We have had a lot of fun naming the event but we did finally settle on “College Evangelism Summit”.

Our Facebook image for this can be found here.

The details are still rolling out, but we can be in prayer for this event as it will focus on how we can reach our culture during this time as college students. We are really excited to be able to help facilitate this event and hope that God will use this summit as a learning and growing experience for all involved!

For additional info on any of this, you can email wrjflp@gmail.com.

Moving our Shows Outside

Now that the Munchies in Menomonie has moved outside, we have been able to utilize some of the space in the trailer for doing our radio shows.

Keep your eyes peeled for Rachel, Eric, Lucy and James as we delve back into shows this semester. It has been a great way to be able to interact with patrons of the coffeehouse as we do our sets.

Thanks to all the coffeehouse workers for putting up with us as we continue to work out the glitches!

What a Semester

We at Burning Dog Radio have been working on improving our marketing as well as production work internally. The work has been fun – and interesting. We can always improve on that college radio feel. If you have been in the radio room to get production done as of late – you may have seen new faces in the station. Eric and Grant have been working on Sundays – Eric with the Sunday production and Grant on the Featured Artists segment. Don’t worry, they don’t bite…well….yeah, no they don’t.

Featured Artists

We’ve started featuring artists on the station weekly. If you’re listening, we are playing the featured songs in the 11 o’clock hour M-F.

This has been good in the sense that it adds some texture to the programming, and all of the staff has been involved in choosing the music, creating spots, marketing, etc.

his month we have featured Ben Howard, NF, The Score, and a treehouse wait. Check out our Spotify playlist with the featured songs for January.

Pray for the Station

Please pray for the station!

That we are unified as a group
Since we are a college radio station, we want to impact the students at Stout. Pray that we have a heart to get out there.
That we grow in our desire to follow Jesus (in his plan to reach people, specifically)
For the students and their growth and service in the radio

The Radio – Out and About This Summer

This summer the Radio ministry was able to spend some time getting out into the community doing remote broadcasts – which has been both challenging – and very very fun. As we grow as servants in the church and ministry we are learning as a group how to serve in the radio better and stronger. It seems we are also growing in unity as God continues to change us as individuals. Please pray for us to be good servants – in order to serve both the church and Street Level.

Daily Devotions on the Radio

This summer (spring really) we started our Daily Devotions Project, with Pastor Tim. You can hear the devotions on our station Monday – Friday in the morning AND night. You can also subscribe to a podcast for these at this URL: jfbelievers.com/community_blogs/podcast/

These are ALSO being played in the Philippines on Street Level Radio every weekday. Pray for these that they bring fruit to the listeners, and that we are able to see that fruit!

Remote Radio Broadcasts with Street Level

Tomorrow night we are going to be doing our first remote broadcast at Stout with the Blind Munchies, WOTS, and Street Level as a way to reach out to the students. Our goal is to be a single front – representing Street Level. Pray for us that we have creative ideas as we start into this semester. As our campaign for the semester shows, we want to be able to communicate as a station that we are Christian, and that Jesus loves music. So as you pray for us, keep that in mind! We want to be able to display that God is creative and cares for excellence in art and music.

We will be doing outreaches like this through the year – so pray for us as we continue to grow in unity and reach out together to the students.

Read All About It

We have also kicked off a project that we are really excited about. Believers’ Community News. This is a Christian news broadcast that is in its beginning stages. Here’s the skinny:

We are using various sources to get a quick 3-4 article news segment – and currently Pastor Tom is compiling and recording the audio into weekly Christian news.

This is really exciting because ….as it turns out – nobody is really doing this well. So listen in daily for this news and if you have good articles, well just keep them to yourself because Tom’s pretty good at finding them! 🙂

But please PRAY for this so that we can keep doing this and do it better. It would be nice to make it into a podcast….someday! We will see!

What’s Playing Now

Just a note that if you are listening to the station and ever wonder….hey, what’s that song? You can visit our website (burningdogradio.com) and see what is playing under “Currently Playing”.
